14 Days Ghana Cultural, historical and sightseeing tour.

Day 1: Arrive at Kotoka International Airport Accra, A short orientation would be given after you have been checked in into your hotel about the tour and the country Ghana in general. Relax in your hotel for the next day activities Accra city tour

Day 2 : The commenced after breakfast with a tour of the National museum to view a collection of ancient and contemporary Ghanaian arts and relics. Next, proceed to W E B Dubois centre of Pan-African culture. A house declared a national monument by the Government of Ghana, where the remains of the man W E B Dubois and the ashes of his wife, Shirley enshrined that their memory will live among men and women in this generation Continue to the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial park next to the arts centre. The memorial park was a former British Polo field where Ghana's independence was declared in 1957. The Mausoleum is a magnificent Marble Monument and the last resting place of the first President of Ghana and his wife, Fathia Nkrumah. The park also serves a symbol of Ghana's freedom. It is a tribute to the man who led Ghana to independence and sparked the wave of decolonization across Africa. It also serves as a source of inspiration for future generations

Day 3. the our begins after breakfast at the · Independence Square where you will see the enclosed flame of African liberation, which was lit by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in 1961. Continue to the Mokola Market, Accra’s biggest traditional open market where everything is bargained for amidst of smiles of friendly women Drive to the Arts Centre incorporating the Centre foe National Culture Accra’s main crafts bazaar selling wide range of goods from ivory, leather, straw, wood, textiles, jewelry to all types of footwear made locally. A cool ride to Labadi beach for a beach relation

Day 4. After breakfast, A long drive to Kumasi with a stop at Tetteh Quarshie Farm, the first commercial cocoa farm; Ghana’s largest export and is used to blend some of the world’s finest chocolates. Continue to Kumasi arriving late afternoon. A visit the Kumasi Fort, the site of the Ashanti Rebellion initiated by Queen Mother Yaa Asantewaa view a collection of the weapons used by the Ashanti Army, photos, and other memorabilia.

Day 5. The tour begins after breakfast at the Manhyia Palace, the official residence of the Asantehene for a visit.The palace was built in 1925 by the British Colonial Government, it served as the private residence for Asantehene Agyeman Prempeh I upon his return from Seychelles after twenty-eight years in exile. The Manhyia Palace Museum stands as a symbol of the rich history and culture of the Asante Kingdom Proceed to the legendary sword site Okomfo Anokye who as a chief priest of the Akan kingdom under the Great Osei Tutu drove the sword into the ground never to be removed by any power , signifying the invincibility of the ancient Asante Kingdom. Next visit to the Kumasi Central Market, one of the open largest Market in West Africa and the largest in Ghana. A wide range of locally made goods are sold at bargain prices.

Day 6. Travel to Takoradi through Cape Coast, with a stop at Assin Manso, the burial site of two former slaves from the U. S. and Jamaica whose remains were re-interred in August 1998 during Ghana’s first Emancipation Day Celebration. You will see the “Slave River” where captured Africans were washed before being confined in the Slave Castles to await shipment to the Americas and the Caribbean. Continue to Takoradi where the evening is at leisure

Day 7.Drive to Nkroful after breakfast, Nkroful is a small village in the Jomoro District of the Western Region of Ghana. It is notable for being the birthplace of Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana's first president and a key figure in the country's struggle for independence. Continue to Nzulezu, centuries-old settlement built entirely on stilts over the surface of Lake Tadane, creating a unique and captivating environment.We'll explore the village's remarkable architecture, with houses and structures built on stilts above the lake's surface. Observe the daily life and customs of the village's inhabitants, Enjoy canoe rides, fishing and scenic views across the lake.The area is a haven for bird enthusiasts, with numerous species to spot. Drive back to the hotel in Takoradi for relaxation.

Day 8. the tour begins after breakast at Bisa Abrewa Museum. A museum created to be one of the largest sculptural representations in clay, wood, cement, paintings and photographs of personalities whose sacrifices have shaped African history, both within the continent and the diaspora. It has about 2,200 artefacts, sculptural pieces and photographs of heroes of the African struggle and the African American Civil Rights Movement as well as other Black personalities in the French, Portuguese and Spanish Caribbean. Bisa Aberwa Museum houses one of the world’s largest private collections of artefacts, sculpture and audio-visual representations of the African story. Drive along the scenic coast toward Elmina Castle, Elmina is a fishing village that’s both picturesque and gritty, charming and though-provoking. Visit the Elmina Castle for a guided tour of the first European settlement on the land of black Africa built in 1482 by the Portuguese and used for both fold and slave trading

Day 9. Early morning drive to Kakum National Park, one of West Africa’s surviving tropical rain forests. Extending over 360sq km, the home to over 40 large mammals and 400 bird species as well as many species of butterflies, flora and fauna. The most popular attraction is the Canopy walkway, which is made up of seven bridges extending 330m, hanging 30m (100 feet) above the forest floor. Walk through this forest to discover the wide variety of exotic floral species and the medicinal values they offer and take a walk on the canopy walkway Drive to Cape Coast with a Stop by at hans cottage botel which is ideally located on a countryside, not far from the National park on your way to Cape Coast, carved out of the woods for serenity and comfort, spells out a unique environment as a choice of relaxation on your visit Continue to the Cape Coast Castle, viewing en route the splendid beaches lined with coconut trees, dotted with fishing villages, as well as old slave and gold ports. Day 10.Beach relaxation and then Drive to Accra in the evening

Day 11. After breakfast, Early morning visit to the Aburi botanical Gardens to learn about the various plants and trees in this beautiful botanical gardens. Drive through to Krobo to witness how traditional beads are made in Ghana as you explore the eastern region of Ghana. enjoy a nice ATV ride in the Garden. Drive back to Accra for James town tour. James Town—one of Accra’s most historic neighborhoods, where history resides on every corner. Best known for its lighthouses (the first of which was constructed in 1875 by the British) as a navigational aid for trading vessels sailing through the Gulf of Guinea. The original structure was ruined but a larger and more improved lighthouse completed in 1921 is still functioning today. Visit the“Brazil House” and learn about the seven Afro-Brazilian families who returned to settle in Ghana in 1836. Familiar Brazilian/Portuguese last names such as De Souza, Palmares, Azumah, Amorin, Da Costa, Santos, De Medeiros and Olympio are abundant in this section of Accra.

Day 12. Visit the Shai Hills Resource Reserve to observe wildlife such as antelopes, baboons, and monkeys, and see artifacts from the Krobo people in the onsite caves. Continue with Akosombo boat cruise to enjoy breathtaking views of the Volta Lake, surrounding hills and lush forests. Swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding or relaxing deck and also to learn about local fishing communities, history and traditions.

Day 13. free day for beach relaxation and shopping at Makola Market and Art Centre.

Day 14. Enjoy the morning at leisure after breakfast. Check-out from the hotel is 12pm. You can visit the Oxford Street or Accra Arts & Crafts Centre for a last minute shopping before you are transferred to the Kotoka International airport for your a departure flight.
